Open it in notepad and when you find some lines about resolution just modify them to 2560x1600( ResolutionSizeX=2560, ResolutionSizeY=1600, same with LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX, LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY, DesiredScreenWidth, DesiredScreenHeight, LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenWidth, LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenHeight ). There you should see a file named GameUserSettings. The location should be something like this:Ĭ:\Users\\AppData\Local\Returnal\Steam\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor For that you need to access a hidden folder "AppData". You need to modify manually the game configuration file and change it to 2560x1600 there. Even though I don't game on my current laptop much, it still functions as a pretty good laptop! I could go Mac laptop + gaming desktop, but I really like having everything on one (portable) computer these days and I'd be nervous about the gaming desktop going to waste if I end up not getting super into PC gaming. But maybe I'd play newer games on my PC if I had a better PC! That said, I'm going through the mental loop of:ġ) Kind of wanting to switch back to OSX for my personal computer, so looking at low end MacBook Pro prices (since I'd want a 14-16" screen).Ģ) Comparing those prices to what I'd be spending on an updated gaming laptop, and looking at those instead.ģ) Realizing I don't play many games on PC (I own an Xbox Series X and PS5) and the games I do play on PC are older and generally run just fine on my current PC. Currently rocking a Gigabyte Aero 15" from 2017 which is holding up pretty well after all of these years (7th gen Intel, GeForce 1060, still getting seven hours of battery life with just general usage).
